Aosta is a charming little town situated in the center of the Aosta Valley region.
Full with history and culture, Aosta offers a great visit to its ancient Celtic and Roman ruins and its magic Roman Theatre. Walking around the historical center, you will enjoy the Italian traditions and food in some charming local restaurant or "Trattoria".
It can be a great location where to accommodate strategically and logistically speaking, mainly because from Aosta you can easily reach Valgrisenche and any ski resort within 30 min. drive.
The mountain guide will come to pick you up every morning and based on the weather and snow conditions he will explain and decide what is the best option for the day: in case it is not possible to fly neither in Valgrisenche nor in La Thuile, you will not need to drive down the valley and then drive up another one again to get some skiing!
Being already at the center of the region gives more freedom and flexibility to the guide, who will propose you an alternative day off piste skiing, or ski touring, where he thinks that conditions are the best.

Daily logistic if you accommodate in Aosta
The Hotel Milleluci is 5 min. drive from Aosta city center.
Every morning the mountain guide will come to pick you up at your hotel and together you will drive to Valgrisenche (30/40 min. drive), where you will take off for your heliski day.
After some descents you can decide to stop and to have lunch at the restaurant at the Base.
At the end of your heliski day you will drive back to Aosta with your guide and therefore enjoy the comfort of your hotel or go for a tour in the charming historical city center. |
